Actor Derek Jacobi grew up in Walthamstow, where his parents ran a market stall. But a clue in his mother's family tree hints at a more colourful past - his great-grandmother's name was Salome Laplain. Armed with this tantalising detail, Derek discovers that, far from being from humble roots as he had thought, he is in fact descended from a wealthy French Huguenot fleeing religious persecution in France - who had connections to Protestant royalty on this side of the channel.

Suranne Jones is an English actress, born in Chadderton, Oldham, best known for playing the role of Karen McDonald in Coronation Street over a period of four years.

Jones attended a public drama club the Oldham Theatre Workshop. 

Before playing Karen McDonald, she had a very small role in Coronation Street in April 1997 as Mandy Phillips, a girlfriend of Chris Collins. During this period she acted in the theatre, appeared in a short filmcalled Punch opposite fellow soap opera alumnus Jeff Hordley and guest starred in episodes of series such as City Central.

 In 2003, Jones appeared on an edition of Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes as Catherine Zeta Jones. 

In Autumn 2005, Jones starred in an ITV's detective drama series Vincent, with Ray Winstone in the title role, this was Jones' first acting role since leaving Coronation Street the previous year. In the same year she starred on the West End stage in A Few Good Men opposite Rob Lowe and appeared in the musical special Celebrate Oliver! which was screened on BBC1. In 2006, she starred as Snow White in the pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at the Manchester Opera House alongside Justin Moorhouse and fellow Coronation Street alumnus John Savident. She also appeared in Kay Mellor's Strictly Confidential in which she played a bisexual sex therapist.

 On New Year's Day 2007, Jones starred in a Yorkshire and London based black comedy, Dead Clever with Helen Baxendale and Dean Lennox Kelly on ITV 1. She has also been as a guest reporter on the long-running BBC travel programme Holiday alongside Anthony Crank and special guest on an edition of the BBC2 series A Taste of My Life with Nigel Slater which paid tribute to her friend, John Barrowman. In autumn 2007, Jones toured the UK extensively in the premiere stage run of the film Terms of Endearment opposite Linda Gray and she has recently appeared in a number of plays for BBC Radio 4 and the West End showcase of a new musical, The Lost Christmas by Laurence Mark Wythe.

In January 2009, she appeared in Unforgiven, a three-part drama on ITV1, where she plays Ruth Slater, a woman released from prison after serving a 15-year prison sentence for the murder of two policemen. In November 2009 she played the role of the Mona Lisa in the episode "Mona Lisa's Revenge" in The Sarah Jane Adventures.



Reece Shearsmith will be 49 - 2 credits, including Rassmussen in Sleep No More

Reece Shearsmith is an English actor, writer, comedian, television producer and magician

He will play Patrick Troughton in An Adventure in Space and Time,  the docu-drama.detailing the creation of Doctor Who.

He created, wrote and acted in one of the UK's top 10 most popular sitcom/sketch shows, The League of Gentlemen, along with fellow performers Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and co-writer Jeremy Dyson. Shearsmith played over 30 characters. He also created, wrote and acted in another award-winning series, Psychoville, along with Pemberton.



Cheryl Ferguson will be 53 - credited as Mrs Lloyd in The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances

Cheryl Fergison is an English actress most notable for playing Heather Trott in the long-running BBC soap opera EastEnders.

She played Mrs Lloyd in the 2005 Doctor Who stories The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.

After training at Rose Bruford College, Fergison started playing the role of Heather Trott in June 2007. The idea of Heather was conceived by the EastEnders executive producer Diederick Santer. Prior to starring as Heather, Fergison made a brief appearance on the show as a friend of Mo Harris in 2005.

Her stage credits include Measure For Measure, for the Royal Shakespeare Company and most recently the 2006 season at the Scoop at More London.

Fergison is also known for playing Joanna Harding, the "Big Fat Lezza" in the Linda Flint sketches of Little Britain, opposite David Walliams. She also played Judy in The IT Crowd. Other British television series in which she has appeared include 'Allo 'Allo!Little Miss JocelynBad Girls and Casualty. Fergison also starred in a Keane promotional video for Atlantic, which is on the Under The Iron Sea DVD.

Fergison made her first appearance in EastEnders on 26 June 2007. She had previously appeared in the soap as a cellmate of Mo Harris.

In November 2007, Fergison participated in the Children in Need charity appeal alongside her EastEnders co-stars which was broadcast on BBC One. On 26 June 2008, she appeared on anEastEnders special of the quiz show The Weakest Link and emerged victorious. She won £22,700 for Great Ormond Street charity.

Since appearing on EastEnders, she has made a variety of television appearances on shows such as GMTVThe Paul O'Grady ShowThis Morning and Loose Women

On 15 August, Cheryl entered the Celebrity Big Brother 10 house. On 24 August, she became the second housemate to be evicted.



Peter Craze will be 72 - 3 credits, including Dako in The Space Museum

Peter Craze is a British actor. 

He is the brother of actor Michael Craze. He has had many film and television appearances including in Doctor WhoEastEnders andBlake's 7.

He is the principal at Drama Studio London.



Norman Mitchell (died 2001 aged 82) would be 100 - credited as First Policeman in The Daleks' Master Plan

Norman Mitchell was an English television, stage and film actor.

He played a policeman in the 1965 Doctor Who story The Daleks' Master Plan.

Born in SheffieldWest Riding of Yorkshire, his father was a mining engineer and his mother a concert singer. He attended Carterknowle Grammar School and the University of Sheffield, before appearing in repertory theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company. During World War II he served with the Royal Army Medical Corps.
