Gordon Warneckeis an English actor of Indo-Guyanese and German descent.

He is perhaps best known for his role as Omar in the 1985 film My Beautiful Laundrette, co-starring as the lover of Johnny (Daniel Day-Lewis). Other film credits include Franco Zeffirelli'sYoung Toscanini and Hanif Kureishi's London Kills Me.

Television credits include: BoonDoctor Who (in the serial Mindwarp), Only Fools and HorsesVirtual MurderBirds of a FeatherEastEnders and The Bill.

An experienced theatre actor, he has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Court Theatre, and most recently returned to the stage with a national tour of Ibsen's An Enemy of the People for Tara Arts, and two new contemporary adaptations of Christmas productions at the Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge WellsKent.He has written and directed a short film 'The Magician' which will be released in March 2012.

William Morgan Sheppard was born in London to an Anglo-Irish family. Educated in Ireland he graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art 1956-58 before spending 12 years as Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He appeared on Broadway in 1966 with Marat/Sade and later in 1975 with Sherlock Holmes. He won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for The Homecoming in 1995, at the Matrix Theatre.

Sheppard appeared in several episodes of different series of Star Trek, notably "The Schizoid Man", as well as the feature film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. He also had roles as Blank Reg on Max Headroom and Confederate General Isaac Trimble in the filmsGettysburg and Gods and Generals.

He has appeared in two roles on the science fiction series Babylon 5 and played a computer hologram for an A.I. program during the first and second season of seaQuest DSV. He appeared in two episodes of MacGyver as well as appearing in the show Minder.

He appeared in the 1978 TV-film The Nativity and starred alongside John Terry in the 1980 fantasy film Hawk the Slayer. He appeared in the 1992 comedy film There Goes the Neighborhood. He appeared in the 1988 comedy horror film Elvira, Mistress of the Dark as Elvira's Great-Uncle Vincent Talbot who was an evil warlock. Sheppard was cast in the 1996 adventure game Zork Nemesis and in 2000 he voiced the character Ignatius Cheese in the game Escape from Monkey Island. He played the role of Captain Archibald Witwicky in the 2007 live action film Transformers.

In the opening episode of series six of Doctor Who, "The Impossible Astronaut" he plays an older version of the character Canton Everett Delaware III while his son Mark Sheppard portrays the younger version.


Jimmy Gardner (died 2010 aged 85) would have been 95 - 2 credits, including Idmon in Underworld

Jimmy Gardner had two roles in Doctor Who. In 1964 he played the role of Chenchu, the manager of the way station at Tun-Huang, in the fourth story of the series Marco Polo. He returned to the series in 1978 to play the role of Idmon in the fourth Doctor story Underworld. Idmon was a Trog on the planet formed around the P7E, and the father of Idas. He tried to encourage the other Trogs to rebel, but was arrested by the Guards and selected for sacrifice. He was rescued by the Doctor and escaped his planet's destruction on board the R1C.

Gardner had a long eventful life. He was a war hero, a survivor of two shipwrecks and numerous escapades on land, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal after completing some 30 missions as a Halifax rear gunner in No 10 Squadron. After the war he trained as an actor at The Central School and had a long career in television, film and stage. He appeared in many classic TV series including The Forsyte Saga, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars and The Onedin Line. In film he worked on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and had his most notorious role as Ernie the bus driver in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
