Michael Begle is an award winning actor and writer.

He has written The Guys, a play about Elvis Presley’s entourage for the Bush Theatre The Secret Olivier with Toby Frow as dramaturg and director.His first produced play, Martha Loves Michael, was co-written with Sally Abbott - focusing on a Michael Jackson fan and set against the backdrop of the 2005 trial, it was produced by Ruffian Productions and was performed at the Pleasance Theatre and across East England.

 Begleyl has Cowboys and Indians, a 6 part TV series in development with BBC Drama – co-written with Sally Abbott and writer-director Jon Sen. Michael has recently joined Tony Jordan’s Red Planet family and is developing a new horror TV series with them, co-written with Sally. He has also been invited onto the Eastenders shadow scheme in Spring 2009.

Begley is currently the recipient of a Peggy Ramsay Award and ACE:East Award to develop The Secret Olivier.

As and actor Begley has worked at the Royal Court, Manchester’s Royal Exchange, Chichester, Birmingham Rep and Gate Theatre as well as many others. He has performed extensively on television: playing the lead in the Danny Boyle/Jim Cartwright film – Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise and regular parts in William and Mary, City Central and Bob and Rose. He  played Mark, the sarcastic Chaplain, in the last episode of Being Human.
