Charles Abomeli graduated from Kent University with a degree in politics, but then trained as an actor. Gaining teaching credentials from LAMDA, he runs his own training company, Abomeli Tutoring which specialises in drama school training.

He has had extensive experience as a Shakesperian actor, and has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Othello in 2004, and toured with Measure for Measure in 2002. He appeared alongside Susannah York in The Kindness of Strangers at the Croydon Warehouse.

On television he played Colonel Oduya throughout the third series of Torchwood. He has also appeared in Wire in the Blood, Hattrick, Nanny State, ShakespeaRe-Told, The First Black Britons, The Bill, Gimme 6, and Anxiety. On radio he has appeared in productions like Grace Abounding, Grace Unshackled, Grace Victorious and Preserved by God, and is also a voice artist and participated in commercial work for the likes of Barclays Bank and H.M. Customs.
