Paul James




Paul James was born in Washington DC and studied at Quince Orchard High School Gaithersburg, Maryland.

He attended the Theatre programme at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland, and graduated from Syracuse University in 2003 with a BA degree in Theatre Studies being a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

After appearing in the feature film The Architect (2006) he featured in several TV shows, including Without a Trace (2007), CSI:Miami (2008) and NCIS: Los Angeles (2010). He became well known for his sympathetic portrayal of homosexual student Calvin, in the ABC family TV programme Greek (2007 - 2011). This is a rare and welcome view of a black gay man free from stereotype, prejudice and censure for which he won the 2009 Image Award for Outstanding Character in a Comedy Series. Since then he has appeared on TV in Bones (2010) Lie To Me (2011) and, currently, Torchwood (2011)
