Peter Gilmore (born in Leipzig, Germany) was a British actor, best known for his portrayal of Captain James Onedin in the BBCTelevision period drama The Onedin Line. He also had roles in 11 Carry On films and played the heroic lead in the adventure film Warlords of Atlantis. He played Brazen in the 1984 series Frontios.

In addition, Gilmore played the role of a young soldier in the World War I satirical musical Oh! What A Lovely War (1969).

He was once married to Worzel Gummidge actress Una Stubbs. At the time of his death, Gilmore was married to actress and Onedin Line co-star Anne Stallybrass.
