Hailing from the Swansea Valley, Howard trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Having worked with many Theatre Companies throughout Europe, Wales & the UK he gained his first Major TV break in Andrew Davies' autobiographical "Pythons On The Mountain".

Cooke went on to play the iconic 'Pex' in Paradise Towers, a sequence which gained him a Dr.Who Best Actor Nomination & also his own fan club. In later years, he appeared in "An Affair In Mind" with with YTA colleague Amanda Donohoe, as well as many others. He left acting behind in 1998 to become a leading Theatrical Agent. However, he was persuaded by his fans to appear on screen once again in 2010 to provide an interview for the BBC DVD release of "Paradise Towers".
