John Bell

John Bell played Creet in the 2007 Doctor Who television story Utopia. 

He won the role in a Blue Peter competition. He was not informed at the time that his character would die, but recalled being overjoyed.

After appearing in Doctor Who, he went on play Anthony Weaver in the series Life of Riley, Toby Coleman in Tracy Beaker Returns, Billy Dempsey in Hatfields & McCoys, and Robin Le Mesurier in the drama Hattie. His debut film appearance was as Tomas in the film A Shine of Rainbows, and he then went on to feature in Wrath of the Titans, Battleship, and most recently as Bain in the latter two Hobbit films The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies.
