Sir Reginald Styles

Sir Reginald Styles was a British diplomat in the late 20th century who arranged the second World Peace Conference held at Auderly House. 

He was instrumental in persuading the Chinese to attend  after flying to Beijing to issue a special plea to the Chinese Government. 

In the alternative 22nd Century it was believed that Styles had sabotaged the conference, leading to the third world war and the subsequent invasion of the Daleks, and a guerilla group travelled back in time to attempt to assassinate Styles.
