Colonel Hugh Curbishley

Colonel Hugh Curbishley was a Boer War hero with a fondness for can-can girls, often hiding magazines of them in his military memoirs. He was married to Lady Clemency Eddison and had a son named Roger. He claimed to be paralysed from the waist down and wheelchair-bound because he feared that Clemency would leave him for another man. The Colonel's son was having a secret affair with a butler named Davenport, but Hugh knew and was surprisingly quiet.

In December 1926, Roger helped host Clemency's party with honoured guest Agatha Christie. The murder of their friend Professor Gerald Peach led to the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble's investigation. This forced Reverend Arnold Golightly to reveal himself as Clemency's long-lost son; he was drowned by Donna. The investigation ended with the only heir to their fortune being murdered by his half-brother.
