Yasmin Paige was born in London. A model and actress since the age of four, her film appearances have included the 2001 movie The Others, which starred Christopher Eccleston. A TV film that Paige starred in was the 2007 adaptation of Ballet Shoes, which was co-produced by Piers Wenger and co-starred Harry Potter's Emma Watson. It was made by Granada Productions and received its premiere on BBC One.

She also played Abby in The Mysti Show, a BBC children's Saturday-morning TV programme that ran for two series.

Paige is best known for her role as Maria Jackson, Sarah Jane Smith's neighbour and alien-finding friend, in The Sarah Jane Adventures. After being on the show for the first series and three episodes of the second, she had to leave because of academics and schooling.

Her next TV role was as Jess in the 2009 ITV1 mystery-drama series Murderland, directed by Catherine Morshead, and the following year she appeared as lead character Jordana in Richard Ayoade's film Submarine.

In February and March 2012, Paige played Beth Mitchell in the six-part BBC Three comedy Pramface, which is returning for a second series. She most recently appeared as Nicky in the Channel 4 drama Spoof or Die, which aired on 30th July 2012.

The second series of Pramface , comprising six episodes, will start on Tuesday 8th January 2013 at 10pm.
