Clayton Hickman is a British writer, magazine editor and designer. Born in Bristol in 1977, he first worked in publishing as Editorial Assistant on Film Review magazine from 1999-2000, and went on to become the longest-serving editor of Panini ComicsDoctor Who Magazine, overseeing the publication between January 2002 and August 2007. 

Between 2005 and 2009 he was editor of Panini's annual publication The Doctor Who Storybook. In 2010 he became the editor of The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who for BBC Books.

As a writer, he has contributed to Big Finish's Doctor Who range of audios and short story collections, in collaboration with Gareth Roberts. Also with Roberts he has co-written "From Raxacoricofallapatorius with Love", the 2009 Comic Relief mini-episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures and Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith the two-part finale to the fourth season, transmitted on 15th and 16th November 2010.

As a designer, he has contributed covers to both Big Finish Productions' audio range and is the regular cover artist for BBC Worldwide/2 entertain Ltd's DVD releases of "classic" Doctor Who stories. He participated in a fan commentary on the BBC Doctor Who DVD Survival and moderated the commentaries for The Time MeddlerThe Keys of Marinus and Frontier in Space.

He was the designer of Russell T Davies' 2008 book The Writer's Tale and its later paperback update.
