When the Silurian leader is killed, all hopes of peace are lost. The Silurians infect Major Baker with a virus deadly to humans and release him to spread the infection.

The Krynoid demands that the Doctor be surrendered to it. But the Time Lord escapes and seeks help. Sarah and Scorby, still trapped on the estate, battle the living plants.

Katy Wix (born  in Cardiff) is a Welsh actress who has appeared in Not Going Out, Comic Relief Special, Rush Hour, Miranda and Torchwood.

Wix attended the University of Warwick before going on to drama school.

In 2007, she joined the cast of sitcom Not Going Out as recurring character Daisy, the girlfriend of a central character. She has continued this role ever since.

In Torchwood: Children of Earth she plays Rhiannon Davies, the sister of Ianto Jones.

In 2010, she presented the BBC3 series The King Is Dead, alongside Simon Bird and Nick Mohammed.

Wix has made guest appearances on the BBC shows Horrible Histories, Outnumbered (2010) and Absolutely Fabulous (2011).

Murray Jonathan Gold is an English composer and dramatist who has served as musical director for Doctor Who since its revival in 2005.

He has been nominated for a BAFTA four times in the category Best Original Television Music, for Vanity Fair (1999), Queer as Folk (2000), Casanova (2006) and Doctor Who (2008). His score for the BAFTA-winning film Kiss of Life was awarded the 'Mozart Prize of the 7th Art' by a French jury at Aubagne in 2003.

Gold has also been nominated four times by the Royal Television Society in categories relating to music for television.

He has had a long professional association with Russell T Davies, collaborating on projects such as Casanova, The Second Coming, and Queer as Folk. He also provided the incidental music for the 2000s version of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) alongside James Bond composer David Arnold, who provided the theme tune.

He wrote the theme tune for the Channel 4 series Shameless and scored the period drama The Devil's Whore, while his radio play Electricity was given the Imison Award for best new play after its broadcast on Radio 3 in 2000. It subsequently transferred to the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2004, with Christopher Eccleston in the lead role.

Others plays of Gold's include 50 Revolutions, performed by the Oxford Stage Company at the Whitehall Theatre, London, in 2000, and Resolution at Battersea Arts Centre in 1994.

For Doctor Who, he created a new arrangement of the show's theme. A number of CDs featuring his music from the series have been released by Silva Screen. Gold also wrote the theme tunes for Doctor Who spin-offs The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood.

Gold has created, arranged and orchestrated several special live concerts featuring the music from Doctor Who. Doctor Who: A Celebration took place at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff in 2006, and his music has featured in the Doctor Who Proms of 2008, 2010, and 2013 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

From 1990, when he first stepped onto set as an extra and throughout the 17 years since, Stark has acquired numerous credits. Working behind the scenes in various departments, mostly as an assistant director, he gained the experience necessary to eventually produce and direct his own films.

In 1997, it was his run as the trainee assistant director on the hit television series "The X Files" (1993), in its fifth and final season in Vancouver, where Stark really began to learn physical production. Meeting and befriending many seasoned veterans, who took him under their respective wings, they helped to teach him the finer points of their expertise.

After X-Files flew south for sunnier skies, Stark coordinated key personnel from the show to assist him in producing Tilt (2003), a modern take on Don Quixote. The project became a five-year journey, involving nearly 700 individuals from Vancouver's film community who either assisted as crew on set, or donated money and services.

Stark's efforts were publicized in newspaper and magazine articles around the world. It even attracted the attention of Hollywood mega-star Hugh Jackman and A-list director Bryan Singer, who offered up a set visit and lunch with them on the set of X2 (2003) as a silent auction item toward a fund-raiser for Tilt's post-production.

The 30 minute short was well received, eventually becoming an official entry into the Boston International Film Festival and the Toronto Filmmakers Festival in 2003.

In the Autumn of 2002, Stark produced and directed "Perfect" a music video for singer Sammi Morelli that was featured on Much Music's "Indie Spotlight." Later that year, Stark helped to produce Pits (2003), another short-film, this time starring celebrated Scottish actor Alan Cumming.

In April of 2005, Stark produced and directed "The Party Crasher", a 30-second commercial contest entry for Shaftebury Beer, which landed him in the top ten best entries. Also that same month, Stark and producing partner Nicolas Awde acquired the film rights to the novel A Century of November (2012), written by award-winning American author W.D. Wetherell. In May of 2007, Stark and Awde signed Jay Wolpert (The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)/Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)) to write the adaptation.

In October 2007, Stark signed on to produce and direct for Blink Media Works. His work is broadcast over many networks including BNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, CBC and Air Canada.

Stark lives in Vancouver with his wife Jyotishna Narayan Stark and son Kieran.

Robin Phillips played Altos in five episodes of the 1964 story The Keys of Marinus, accompanying the Doctor and his companions in their quest for the Conscience's keys. 

Phillips was born in Haslemere, in 1942. He studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic and went on to appear in many well known TV series including Compact, The Forsyte Saga, The Avengers and The Saint. In 1969 he played the title character in the star studded TV version of Charles Dickens' David Copperfield. 

In 1975 he was hired as artistic director at the Stratford Festival in Canada. He spent six seasons directing many productions starring such actors as Maggie Smith, Richard Monette, Martha Henry, and Brian Bedford, directing 40 productions. He made Canada his home, becoming a Canadian citizen and developing a wide-ranging career in the country, including a period as artistic director at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario, and as director general of Edmonton's Citadel Theatre. 

Phillips's directing credits included a London production of Long Day's Journey into Night starring Jessica Lange, the Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde, and a Canadian Opera Company performance of The Marriage of Figaro.

In 1983 he was given an honorary degree by the University of Western Ontario and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2005. He was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at The Governor General's Performing Arts Awards in 2010

John Carson  was a British actor noted for his appearances in film and television.

Making his film debut in 1947, he carved out a career appearing in low budget British movies such as Seven Keys (1961); Smokescreen (1964); and Master Spy (1964). His saturnine looks and sinister voice (not unlike James Mason) led to him starring in a number of horror films including The Night Caller (1965); Plague of the Zombies (1965); The Man Who Haunted Himself (1970); Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970); and Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (1972).

Beside his appearances in horror films he is also known for his many villainous turns in adventure series of the sixties, such as The Avengers; The Saint; Adam Adamant Lives!; The Baron; Man in a Suitcase; The Champions; and Department S.

His long and varied list of television credits include The Adventures of Robin Hood; Emergency - Ward 10; Ivanhoe; William Tell; Armchair Theatre; Maigret; Out of the Unknown; Emma (as Mr. Knightley); Dixon of Dock Green; Crown Court; The New Avengers; Secret Army; The Professionals; Tales of the Unexpected; Hammer House of Horror; and Poirot. He was also famously the voice-over on the Sunsilk TV commercial that featured the John Barry music "The girl with the sun in her hair".

In 1983 he appeared as Ambril in the fifth Doctor story Snakedance.

He died peacefully in Cape Town, South Africa in 2016.

Mervyn Pinfield was a British Television producer and director working for the BBC during the 1950s and 1960s. 

He was a key member of the team recruited to launch Doctor Who in the early sixties. He was appointed associate producer on the series, to aid the inexperienced producer Verity Lambert, because of his vast technical knowledge of how television was made.

Pinfield was a highly experienced producer and director. Before joining the BBC early in the 1950s to work on live drama at Alexandra Palace, he spent over four years in 'weekly rep' as Director/Theatre Manager at the Royalty Theatre, Morecambe. 

He also directed Episodes 1 to 4 of The Sensorites, The Space Museum and Episodes 1 & 2 of Planet of Giants for the series, and worked as director on other BBC series such as Compact (Day Of Deliverance and Fare Thee Well For I Must Leave Thee), The Monsters, and The Franchise Affair.

Pinfield was also known as the inventor of an early type of Teleprompter, or Autocue, which he called the Piniprompter.

The producer is played by Jeff Rawle in the 50th Anniversary drama An Adventure In Space And Time.

Frank Seton was born in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England.

He was an actor, known for A Private Enterprise (1974),Strongroom (1962) and The Trouble with 2B (1972). He died in Rosecare, Cornwall, England.
