Best known for her work in the United Kingdom, she is remembered in theUnited States for a television advert that presented her as a celebrity, even though she was not widely known in the US at the time the advert was produced

She was born in St NeotsCambridgeshireEngland. Her father, Major Count Ludwik Maria Lubienski, had led Radio Free Europe in Poland and was the chief of the Polish military mission in Gibraltar during World War II. Her mother was the former Countess Elzbieta Tyszkiewicz. She has two sisters: Anna, an actress who appeared in a few films in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and Gabriela. Lenska was educated at the Ursuline College in Westgate-on-Sea.

Her big break was as Little Ladies' band member, "Q," in the British TV series Rock Follies (1976) and its sequel Rock Follies of '77the following year. By this time, she had renounced her title as a Polish countess; she has said of the decision, "In England it doesn'tcount, if you'll excuse the pun."

Rock Follies was not widely seen in North America, but in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Lenska became famous in the United Statesand Canada for her Alberto VO5 hair products commercials. The commercial began with a closeup of her stating, "I'm Rula Lenska." People assumed this was a product endorsement by a celebrity whose name the advertisers expected them to know�although, in North America, Lenska was virtually unknown prior to the VO5 ad campaign. 

In a Tonight Show monologue that aired after the commercials started running, Johnny Carson asked "Who the hell is Rula Lenska?" and began using Lenska's name as a running joke on his show.

In 2003, she starred in the black comedy Paradise Grove alongside Ron Moody. She played Lintilla and her clones in the second Radioseries of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and can also be heard in the third, fourth and fifth radio series which debuted on BBC Radio 4 in May 2005. She has presented travel programmes for the BBC and has recorded many audiobooks.

In the 2005 film Gypo, which was the first UK feature film to be made under Dogme rules, she plays a Roma refugee from the Czech Republic living on a caravan site in Margate.

Lenska also starred in "Garvey" in the independent British film Jack Says. opposite her one-time EastEnders co-star Mike Reid, which was released on dvd on 22 September 2008. She lent her voice to the upcoming animation film Agent Crush.

In 2009, Lenska joined the cast of Coronation Street as new character Claudia Colby, an old friend of Audrey Roberts. In May 2011, Lenska quit the role in order to join the Calendar Girls tour in August 2011.

She has toured extensively both in the UK and abroad and appeared in several West End shows (most recently in The Vagina Monologues and 84 Charing Cross Road) and in many pantomimes and is a regular performer (and part of the original cast) of the touring play Seven Deadly Sins Four Deadly Sinners.

In December 2005, she appeared on stage with the London Gay Men's Chorus for their Christmas Show, Make the Yuletide Gay. She sang and danced while also hosting the show at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, the Dome Concert Hall in Brighton and the Barbican Centre in London.

At the equivalent show in December 2006, comedienne Sandi Toksvig corrupted the lyrics of a song to suggest Lenska had a Christmas job in Debenhams. In 2007 she was to tour alongside Marti Webb and Sheila Ferguson in a new musical about menopause called Hot Flush.

Sanda Bryant is a British television actress.

In 1967-68 she released two 45rpm singles in the UK: "Girl With Money" c/w "Golden Hours" on Major Minor MM 523 and "Out To Get You" c/w "There's No Lock On My Door" on Major Minor MM 553. Both are popular with collectors due to the Soul-Beat dance styled music on both, although neither were chart hits.

Lawrence Harrington was 86 - credited as Lunar Guard in Frontier In Space

Laurence Harrington  is a British actor who has played DS Probert in Z-Cars, George Latimer in Softly, Softly, the Lawyer in The Sweeney, Jackson in Space: 1999, Gary in Agony, Jeff Sadler in Boon, Cyril Harrington-Morse in Lovejoy, Vic Lawson in Love Hurts and James Palfrey in Dalziel and Pascoe. He has also guest-starred in The BillCasualtyHolby City and Doctors

He played the lunar guard in the 1973 Doctor Who story Frontier in Space.

Also appeared in the British band Naked Eyes' 1984 music Video "(What) In the Name of Love".

Frank Windsor is an English actor, best know for his role as Detective Sergeant John Watt in Z-Cars and its spin-off Softly, Softly: Taskforce.

He played two character in Doctor Who in the 1980's appearing in The King's Demons and Ghost Light.

He began his career on radio and made an appearance in a 1953 film of Henry V. His first TV appearances were in 1960 in a series of Shakespearean plays.

In 1969 he appeared in the pilot episode of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) in the episode My Late Lamented Friend and Partner as the wealthy businessman Sorrensen with a murderous streak. 

He has also had regular roles in the BBC drama Casualty and the ITV drama Peak Practice; played Major Charlie Grace in EastEnders (1992) had various stage roles, and in his later years appeared in a number of television commercials advertising life-assurance policies for the over-50s.


Marius Goring (died 1998 aged 86) - credited as Theodore Maxtible in The Evil of the Daleks

Marius GoringCBE  was an English stage and film actor. He is most often remembered for the four films he did with Powell & Pressburger, particularly as Conductor 71 in A Matter of Life and Death and as Julian Craster in The Red Shoes. He regularly performed French and German roles.

Goring was born in Newport, Isle of Wight, England, the son of Dr Charles Goring and Kate Macdonald. After attending The Perse School in Cambridge, where he became a friend of an older boy, the future documentary film maker Humphrey Jennings, he studied at the universities of Cambridge, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Paris. He first performed professionally in 1927. His early stage career included appearances at the Old VicSadler's WellsStratford and several European tours; he was fluent in French and German. He first worked in the West End in a 1934 revival of Granville-Barker's The Voysey Inheritance at the Shaftesbury Theatre. During the 1930s, he played a variety of Shakespearean roles, including Feste in Twelfth Night (1937),Macbeth and Romeo, in addition to Trip in Sheridan's The School for Scandal

In 1929, he became a founding member of British Equity, the actor's union, and became its president from 1963 to 1965, and again from 1975 to 1982. Goring's relationship with his union was fraught: he took it to litigation on three occasions. In 1992 he unsuccessfully sought to end the block on the sale of radio and television programmes to (the still) apartheid South Africa.During World War II he joined the army, becoming supervisor of BBC radio productions broadcasting to Germany and continued to act under the name Charles Richardson, because of the association of his name with Hermann Göring. In 1941, he married his second wife, the actress Lucie Mannheim. She died in 1976, and the next year Goring married television producer Prudence Fitzgerald, who survived him.

His TV work included starring as Sir Percy Blakeney in The Scarlet Pimpernel (ITV, 1955), a series which he also co-wrote and produced; Theodore Maxtible in the Doctor Who story The Evil of the Daleks (BBC, 1967); title role in The Expert (BBC, 1968–1976); George V in Edward and Mrs Simpson (Thames, 1980); and The Old Men at the Zoo (BBC, 1983).

He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1979 and appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1991. He died from cancer in 1998 aged 86.Goring's voice provides the narration of the sound and light show performed regularly in the evening at the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey.
